Lily’s Book Reviews gives readers a glimpse at Christian books. She writes: “Hello, welcome to my little site of book reviews. I’ve set this site up to keep track of the Christian books given to me to review with much thanks! Thanks for popping by and stay safe and warm.”

My Thoughts
This is a wonderful read. I really enjoyed the dialogue between John and Mary, not to mention with the other characters. There is just something about reading Biblical fiction in the historical context that really makes it come alive and personal. I love to imagine what it must’ve been like living in those times. I do believe knowing the history and culture is important in understanding the Bible as well.
The story takes you through the years leading up to the prophectic event as described by Jesus in Mark 13: 1-2 where the temple would be destroyed in 70 A.D. As I read more deeply into the book I found myself more and more intrigued of how this rebellion against the Roman empire would turn out. I think you will enjoy this book and it would make a great gift. I look forward to reading book two of this series called The Last Disciple: Escape to Antioch.
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Mat 28:20.” I received this book for free from Celebrate Lit Tour and the opinions I express are honest and my own.
